Dengo is a Brazilian cocoa and chocolate brand. The company is not only aware of the environmental impact of its business, but also of its social responsibility. Elke Moebius, Director EuroShop/EuroCIS, Portfolio Retail + Retail Technologies, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, was on the road in Brazil and was able to see Dengo's flagship store in São Paulo.
Here you can see a manufacturing step of the chocolate, the so-called conching. Here, the chocolate is stirred for several hours under the influence of temperature. Now the final ingredients are also added. The machine is a fully restored model from the 1940s and is the main attraction of the microfactory.
Attention, emotion, conversion! Promotional and marketing activities can have a major impact. To do so, they must be applied in a targeted manner and implemented with the best tools. You will find inspiration for this in our Retail Marketing dimension at EuroShop!
At this station, visitors can see which ingredients go into the chocolate. This visualizes the composition of chocolates in the glass cylinders. Visitors can see and understand in the microfactory how cocoa beans are transformed into chocolate mass and what distinguishes a bean-to-bar chocolate from a conventional chocolate. This makes Dengo more than just a sales outlet; it is more of an experience center.
According to Dengo, it has built up a network of small and medium-sized cocoa and coffee bean farmers who are well paid for their work. In this way, Dengo wants to guarantee good quality of their products while advocating for a fairer and better society and economy.
