Sixty years of EuroShop +++ Seven retail dimensions +++ Positive response and many key players are on board +++ Extensive supporting programme with new offerings
When the doors to EuroShop open in February 2026, the international retail world will meet in Düsseldorf for the 22nd time to celebrate a special anniversary: EuroShop will be 60 years old! Since its premiere in 1966, the trade fair has developed into the world’s leading platform for the retail world, attracting trade visitors from all over the world every three years. For decision-makers from the retail sector, architecture and design firms, shopfitting and shop planning, it is a must-attend event that offers a glimpse into the future of shopping. On 22-26 February 2026, The World’s No. 1 Retail Trade Fair will once again celebrate the latest retail innovations and, of course, its anniversary with a “Global Retail Festival”. Visitors from all over the world are expected in Düsseldorf on the Rhine on 22-26 February 2026. Around 1,900 exhibitors from over 60 nations will present their solutions and products on an exhibition area of more than 100,000 net square metres in a total of 14 exhibition halls.
In seven experience dimensions, EuroShop will showcase the wide range of innovations that are shaping the retail industry of tomorrow. The dimensions reflect the diverse disciplines that make retail exciting and attractive: The Shopfitting & Store Design dimension is the centrepiece and the largest of the dimensions: around 450 exhibitors – including leading architecture and store design firms and manufacturers – will showcase their latest developments on over 27,000 square metres of registered exhibition space. The spectrum ranges from innovative concepts, impressive shop designs and visual merchandising solutions to materials, furniture and modular systems for the point of sale. The Lighting Dimension will once again be an eye-catcher when entering EuroShop. It shows how well-designed lighting transforms stores into worlds of experience, creates atmosphere and impressively sets the scene at the point of sale. The Expo & Event Marketing dimension is experiencing particularly high demand. The space is no longer sufficient, so it is being expanded to two halls for the first time. With over 25,000 square metres of space, the Refrigeration & Energy Management area will be particularly large. This not only demonstrates the need for energy-efficient technologies and sustainable refrigeration but also how strongly retail gastronomy is booming. In the EuroCIS (Retail Technology) dimension, over 550 exhibitors will showcase how AI, customer centricity, smart stores and many other technologies are shaping the future of retail. The Retail Marketing dimension impressively illustrates how important it is to offer customers a shopping experience that engages all the senses. Multisensory presentations and innovative in-store campaigns show how purchasing impulses can be specifically reinforced.
Numerous special areas invite visitors to delve deeply into various topics. In the Designers’ Village, international architecture firms and design studios present their visionary concepts. The VM Experience special area is new this year, which brings visual merchandising to life in an interactive, dialogical and creative way. The Food Service Innovation Hub highlights digital transformation and automation in retail gastronomy, while the Italian Lighting Lounge impressively demonstrates the role which light plays in modern store design. Visual merchandising and POS marketing take centre stage in the Shop! Village. The IFES Global Village, dlv Village and Start-up Hub are back again. The 60s Lounge brings contemporary history and the early days of EuroShop back to life. Retailers and exhibitors present trends, case studies and specialist presentations on seven stages. Discussion panels encourage the exchange of knowledge on forward-looking topics in the international retail world.
The Guided Innovation Tours at EuroShop will offer a wider range of options in this anniversary year: Tours focusing on various key topics will provide a simple overview of exciting exhibitors in the areas of sustainable materials and store design, retail tech innovation, energy management & optimisation and food service innovations. Store tours of interesting shop concepts in Düsseldorf will also take place for the first time.
Important topics at EuroShop 2026 will include AI and digitalisation, emotionalisation and sustainability. EuroShop 2026 will once again be the focal point for innovation in the entire retail sector.
