Video surveillance takes place on the trade fair premises of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. The video surveillance serves the purpose of observing the rights of domestic authority, in order to prevent crime as well as to conserve evidence in case a crime has occurred. Video surveillance moreover takes places for logistical purposes of traffic routing, traffic congestion prevention, coordination of transport of persons by bus and for purposes of truck guidance. The legal basis for said video surveillance is Article 6 paragraph 1 letter f. of the European General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR), whereas the legitimate interests pursued by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH arise from the aforementioned purposes. If and as far as video footage is recorded, it is deleted upon lapse of 48 hours, unless a longer lasting storage is necessary to observe the aforementioned legitimate interests. If the latter is the case, a deletion will take place upon shortfall of the purpose of processing.
Messe Düsseldorf GmbH offers exhibitors / exhibitor representatives and visitors the opportunity to book services online.
When visitors (trade fair visitors and trade fair visitors) and exhibitor personnel (exhibitor representatives) use the online registration (all aforementioned groups of persons hereinafter also referred to collectively as users or data subjects), Messe Düsseldorf GmbH collects the data required to process ticket orders in the Ticket Shop. In this respect, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH relies on the legal basis of Art. 6 Section 1 lit. b. GDPR, i.e. the fulfilment of a contract to which the data subject is a party. The data recorded during registration can also be corrected or changed by the user subsequently after clicking on the Edit link in the user profile. With the exception of surnames and first names, users can change this information at any time and as often as they wish. Visitors to trade fairs (i.e. visitors to public events without trade visitor status) have the option of using a guest access to book services online without registering and without providing additional data relating to the mere processing of the contract. By requesting additional data from trade fair visitors (i.e. representatives of companies attending trade fairs) in the registration process - e.g. on specific trade interests or the type of journey - Messe Düsseldorf GmbH is pursuing the legitimate interest of identifying market-relevant trends and opinion developments and better aligning its trade events with the professional interests and needs of the visitors and exhibitors at the event in question or offering digital exchange services among all users. This also enables Messe Düsseldorf GmbH to provide users with targeted specialist information even before a follow-up event. The classification of a data subject either as a trade fair visitor or as a trade fair visitor is either based on the fact that certain events are only accessible to trade fair visitors or on a corresponding query. All this serves to promote the quality of the professional exchange, which is essential for the successful implementation of trade fairs, exhibitions, congresses and conferences and is therefore also in the interest of both trade fair visitors and exhibitor representatives. In this respect, Messe Düsseldorf relies on the legal basis of Art. 6 Section 1 lit. f. GDPR (safeguarding legitimate interests after weighing up interests). No conflicting interests of the data subjects that in any case outweigh the aforementioned legitimate interests of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH are apparent in this respect. In the case of the redemption of admission ticket vouchers for ticket orders that are free of charge or at a reduced price for visitors, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH bases both the registration and the aforementioned request for information that does not merely relate to the processing of the ticket order on the fact that its service is paid for or provided in exchange for the personal data requested. In this respect, Art. 6 Section 1 lit. b. GDPR is the legal basis for data processing. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH will also send users who have booked a service online advertising on similar goods and / or services of its company by electronic means (e.g. by e-mail). If users do not wish to receive advertising, they may object to the use of their data for this purpose at any time by sending an e-mail to privacy@messe-duesseldorf.de or by clicking on the unsubscribe link in each e-mail, without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs in accordance with the basic rates. In this regard, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH relies on the legal basis of Section 7 (3) UWG (Law against Unfair Competition) in conjunction with Art. 6 Section 1 lit. f. GDPR.
The Online Application (OA) offers the possibility of booking a stand online as an exhibitor at a trade fair (web application along with the associated database). This also involves the processing of personal data of the data subject who represents the exhibitor, who is usually not a natural person, as the contact person (exhibitor representative). Messe Düsseldorf GmbH bases the processing of personal data taking place in this way in the exercise of legitimate interests on a balancing of interests pursuant to Article 6 Sec. 1 lit. f. GDPR (balancing of interests). The legitimate interest pursued by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH lies in the proper processing of orders, for which a individual person (i.e. a human being) is required as a contact person with the exhibitor, e.g. in order to be able to discuss queries or other details. If, in individual cases, the exhibitor is the same person as the individual person who places an order as a contractual partner of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH itself, the latter relies on Art. 6 Sec. 1 lit. b. GDPR, i.e. on the initiation or fulfillment of a contract to which the data subject is a party. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH will also send advertising on similar goods and services of its company by electronic means (e.g. by e-mail) to the e-mail address of the exhibitor provided by the exhibitor representative (contact person) for processing the registration for the trade fair. By providing additional voluntary data in the registration process, e.g. on special technical interests, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH is able to send users targeted technical information even before an event. By entering their details, users therefore decide for themselves which data is to be disclosed. If users prefer not to receive said advertising they may object to it anytime by sending an e-mail to privacy@messe-duesseldorf.de or by using the unsubscribe-button contained in each e-mail without costs arising by virtue thereof, other than transmission costs pursuant to the basic rates. In this regard, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH relies on the legal basis of Section 7 Sec. 3 UWG (German Law Against Unfair Competition) in conjunction with Art. 6 Sec. 1 lit. f. GDPR.
Messe Düsseldorf operates the Online-Order-System (OOS) to accept orders and subsequently conclude contracts via the internet as an online shop for exhibitors. The OOS is a web application and database for ordering trade fair-related articles and services in addition to the stand space alone. A log-in is required to use the OOS. The providers of products and services therein are Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and its affiliated service partners. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH bases the processing of personal data taking place here in the exercise of legitimate interests on a balancing of interests pursuant to Article 6 Sec. 1 lit. f. GDPR (balancing of interests). The legitimate interest pursued by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH lies in the proper processing of orders, for which an individual person (i.e. a human being) is required as a contact person at the exhibitor, e.g. in order to be able to discuss queries or other details. If the exhibitor happens to be the same person as the individual person who places an order as a contractual partner of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH itself, the latter relies on Art. 6 Sec. 1 lit. b. GDPR, i.e. on the initiation or fulfillment of a contract to which the data subject is a party.

It is moreover required to successfully register with the aforementioned provider of Zoom. Said registration must self-dependently be carried out by each interested participant. In the scope of the application to a websession, which takes place upon registration, the data needed for the participation as part of the audience, namely, name, first name (each data subject may alternatively provide a nick name), and e-mail address, will be submitted by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH to the aforementioned provider of Zoom. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH has entered into a respective contractual relationship with the provider of Zoom. The privacy policy applying to Zoom is available at https://zoom.us/privacy . We base this processing of personal data onto the fact that said transmission of personal data is also in the interest of the participant. In particular because Zoom is to a high degree well suited for the holding of websessions, in order to offer to participant an informative and high quality web-experience, there is a close and material interrelation on hand between the data transmission and the participants interest between the contract concluded between Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and the provider of Zoom. The relevant legal basis here is thus Art. 49 lit. c. of the European General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR).
For the participation in a free of charge websession each participant consents to his personal data (namely name, first name, e-mail address, company affiliation, professional position, country) to be submitted to the exhibitor holding the respective websession, in particular for said exhibitors own marketing purposes. We base this processing of personal data on Article 6 section 1 letter a. (if the exhibitor is based in a third country with adequacy decision in conjunction with Art. 49 section 1 lit. a. ) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR).

Insofar as this is technically possible on the Messe Düsseldorf internet portal, we offer you as a user the option "stay logged in" for your account when logging in. This option can be used on a voluntary basis. If you do not wish to use the login service, you are of course free to use our internet portal without the "stay logged in" option. You will have to log in again when you return later after the session has ended (browser session). If you select the "stay logged in" option, you do not have to do this again; you remain logged in. For this purpose, we use an IDP cookie that automatically recognizes you when you visit our internet portal again. In the course of this, a session ID is stored. This has a reference to your account. Your browser only stores the IDP cookie; your IP address is not stored. We base the processing of personal data that takes place in this context on the granting of consent pursuant to Article 6 section 1 letter a. of the European Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR), the granting of which requires the active ticking of the box provided for this purpose. To uncheck the "stay logged in" option and thus revoke the consent you have given without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent before its withdrawal, please click on "log out". The IDP cookie used has a duration of eight weeks. This means that after a certain period of time, you will need to log in again, even if you have opted for the "stay logged in" option and have not logged out since then. Also, if you change your password, you will need to log in again. Finally, we strongly recommend that you do not use the "stay logged in" option on end devices that you are not the only one using. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of unauthorized access to your customer account by third parties.
Messe Düsseldorf operates paid parking spaces for motor vehicles (KFZ) for rental. In cases where vehicles have been parked in paid parking spaces and the maximum parking time has been exceeded or no valid parking ticket has been purchased, Messe Düsseldorf conducts a vehicle owner query with the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KFZ-Halterabfrage beim Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt). This serves to enforce parking fee claims in accordance with the parking conditions (Einstellbedingungen) posted for the use of the parking spaces. Messe Düsseldorf relies on the legal basis of § 39 paragraph 1 of the German Road Traffic Act (StVG) in conjunction with Article 6 paragraph 1 letter b. GDPR, if the owner and the parking space lessee are the same person; otherwise (in the absence of personal identity) on the legal basis of § 39 paragraph 1 StVG in conjunction with Article 6 paragraph 1 letter f. GDPR (balancing of interests). The vehicle owner query is both necessary and indispensable for asserting, securing or enforcing or for satisfying or defending legal claims in connection with the assertion of outstanding parking fee claims. This is because it is the only suitable means of enforcing the law. This, as well as the evaluation made by the legislator in § 39 StVG, means that the interest of Messe Düsseldorf in carrying out the vehicle owner query outweighs the interest of the owner in not having the associated encroachment on his personal rights.

This does not apply, if and as far as despite of any revocation or objection yet another legal basis or other overriding grounds are on hand authorizing Messe Düsseldorf GmbH not to erase said personal data. This may for example be the case, in cases in which legal periods of time for safeguarding apply (such as applicable for business correspondence and booking documents).
To enable optimum servicing of our customers and business partners on a worldwide basis, we forward your data to companies within the Messe Düsseldorf Group. The fulfilment of contractual purposes or the performance of pre-contractual measures with potential exhibitors/exhibitors as well as with potential visitors or visiting companies from third countries fundamentally necessitates the forwarding of data to the international representation office of the corresponding third country.
