A total of 122 applications from 30 countries once again demonstrated the innovative strength of global retail. The winning store concepts come from Ukraine, Austria, Peru and Germany – reflecting the diversity and international reach of contemporary retail strategies.
The "Cyberculture Supermarket" in Lviv, Ukraine, merges food retail with e-sports culture to create an immersive shopping environment. In Vienna, Austria, House of Silhouette reimagines the eyewear experience as a flexible design and event platform. The MediaMarkt Tech Village in Hamburg, Germany, transforms electronics retail into an interactive technology destination. Casa Garbo in Lima, Peru, combines gastronomy, art and entertainment into a hybrid hospitality concept. And Intersport Finke in Bielefeld, Germany, demonstrates how circular economy principles, material reuse and energy-efficient solutions can form the foundation of a credible and forward-looking sustainability strategy in sports retail.
The Sustainability category in particular highlights that retail design today extends far beyond aesthetics. Future-ready store concepts integrate design, technology and environmental responsibility into a holistic business approach.
For me, the EuroShop RetailDesign Award 2026 clearly reinforces one central strategic insight: successful retail emerges where design, innovation and sustainability are conceived together – internationally, boldly and with a clear sense of purpose.
