The appeal of the model has attracted numerous players. Alongside the established names Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto, additional providers are entering the market or expanding their presence, including Flipkart Minutes, Myntra M-now, BB Now, and Amazon Tez.
Competition is therefore intensifying on several levels at once: delivery times, assortments, technology, real estate, partners, and customer interfaces. For platforms, that makes improving unit economics increasingly important. The underlying texts identify several levers for doing so: larger baskets, lower supply-chain costs, better gross margins, direct sourcing from producers and farmers, and additional revenue streams such as advertising and platform fees.
This development is also relevant for brands and solution providers. Quick-commerce platforms are increasingly becoming retail media and visibility spaces. Succeeding there requires more than just listing and logistics – it also requires data-driven activation.
