TOSHIBA TEC wins 2007 European Retail Solution Awards
TOSHIBA TEC and UK Business Partner Itim honoured with top European Retail Technology Award
Krefeld, Germany, October 2007 – TOSHIBA TEC Europe, a leading retail and industrial automation solutions provider, received two European Retail Solution Awards at the prestigious Retail Solutions annual event 2007. The awards were for superior customer support services and excellence in innovation and delivery in the UK, and highlight TOSHIBA TEC’s continued leadership and success in providing a superior ownership experience for customers. TOSHIBA TEC Europe was awarded the EPoS Initiative of the Year category, which recognizes companies that provide cutting-edge technology and systems.
Toshiba was also honoured to receive from the Jury the top award of the evening, namely, The European Retail Technology Solution of the Year. The judges were highly impressed by both the size and timescale of the project as well as the fundamental business transformation of the business that it is driving.
EMAP, the leading UK trade exhibition organiser and media group, organised the 2007 Annual Awards, which are attended by more than 700 top retailers and suppliers from the UK and is the foremost retail event of the year.
EPoS Initiative of the Year
TOSHIBA TEC, together with Itim, it’s UK business partner, implemented a total overhaul of the ICT infrastructure at Celebrations Group, one of the UK’s leading specialist greeting card retailers. The roll-out proved to be the largest EPoS project in the UK in 2006 and was completed in a staggering three months from signing the contract to completion. TOSHIBA TEC’s ST-71 POS system replaced 760 ECRs nationwide at a rate of 80 per week and flawlessly delivered an essential part of the new technology infrastructure in extremely challenging timescales.
The TOSHIBA TEC-Itim collaboration allowed Celebrations Group to be up and running in time for Christmas, its busiest time of the year, with 40 percent of the firm’s turnover made between October and December.
The turnkey solution provided Celebrations Group with a like-for-like turnover increase of 12 percent and an ROI in just 10 months.
