Salem, MA, May 1, 2008 – McCue Corporation announced today the introduction of GreenGuard™, the industry’s bumper protection system that exceeds even the most demanding of retailer green requirements: it is made from a minimum of 93% pre-consumer recycled polycarbonate and is 100% recyclable. This innovative product meets the FTC’s marketing guidelines of “green” and can be used in the calculation of LEED points. In addition, it is 100% compliant with the European Union Restrictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive. And not only is it environmentally friendly -GreenGuard™ is 30% stronger than traditional PVC bumper.

Up to now, the industry has largely relied upon Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) for durability, performance and look. However with escalating interest in environmental friendliness and sustainability, a chlorine-free substitute was needed. With no clear green standards, McCue took a leadership role and has defined a new standard that will meet the strictest definitions of “truly green.” After experimenting with several alternative materials, the company has succeeded in developing bumper that exceeds all others – GreenGuard™.
