Panasonic’s Iris Reader Awarded Best access Control Product at Detektor International Awards 2007

Panasonic System Solutions has been awarded the Best Access Control Product for its BM-ET200 Iris Recognition Reader at the 8th annual Detektor International Awards in Stockholm Sweden on 23rd October.

The 2007 awards ceremony was held at the restaurant Park Side of the Rica Talk Hotel after the opening day of the security industry Sectech show in Stockholm. Specialist security magazine Detektor International presented Panasonic System Solutions’ Jonaton Holmelius with the award, a unique glass sculpture, specially designed by the world famous glass designer Bertil Vallien.

The awards ceremony was attended by over 350 security professionals and focused on recognising technological innovation and commitment to providing a quality product and service in the security industry. The judging panel, including Lennart Alexandrie, Publisher, Detektor International commented on why Panasonic’s iris reader was given this prestigious prize, “Fast speed identification, coupled with a very low false acceptance rate, makes the BM-ET200 a perfect choice in environments where time is precious and security paramount.”

The Detektor International Award is the second accolade for the BM-ET200 this year and signifies recognition of its strengths in the access control market across Europe after also being presented Best New Access Control Product at the UK’s IFSEC awards in May.

Panasonic’s Jonaton Holmelius, Swedish Sales manager for System Solutions Europe, was delighted to receive the ward on behalf of the department which recently embarked on full European domain ownership. The BM-ET200 is the third generation of Iris reader from Panasonic System Solutions, and provides market leading advancements in biometric technology, combining speed, accuracy and a cost effective system that can be easily integrated to access control or identify management solutions.
