Online Software AG supports Media Markt in China

Online Software AG supports the first Media Markt in China with the PoS communications solution PRESTIGEenterprise - with official seal.
The first Media Markt in China is opening with the customer pitch 'Made in Germany'. And with the official seal of the local authorities.

The system that has already been successfully implemented in many European installations, PRESTIGEenterprise for PoS-advertising (placard and label printing) has also been adapted to the requirements of the Chinese market in the shortest time. This means from the translation of the screen displays to the integration in the local Oracle Retail ERP for prompt price updates with the automatic generation of individualised, section-based information.

Along with the localisation of the application, another big challenge required mastering: professional customer pitches and advertising in the Media Markt stores require comprehensive and consistent data. And this particularly in the area of innovative “consumer electronics”. Yet this kind of database was not available for the Chinese market.

A solution in this context was offered by the PoS communications solution PRESTIGEenterprise: in the weeks before the opening in Shanghai, more than two dozen employees were required to gather the data of over 25,000 electronic items, and to professionally enter them in the price communication and advertising system PRESTIGEenterprise.

Just in time at the opening of the first Media Markt in Shanghai - stretching over 9.500 sq. m. - they are now able to access the most detailed data material in China, from the focal length of the digital cameras, to the pixel resolution of modern LED TVs, to the revolutions per minute of the washing machines.

This data is managed centrally by the PRESTIGEenterprise software system and printed in the required form of media, for instance, as a small A7 shelf label or as an A4 stand-up display.

Individualised advertising at the touch of a button in all of the 28 departments of this unique hyper market for electronics - and something unique in the Chinese market place, for which this kind of price communication and advertising represents a brand new form to address customers.

Yet what is the relevance of the official seal? In the Chinese market it is necessary for selected customer information, including price labels, to be approved by the authorities. So every label is given a stamp which displays this approval and the employee who is responsible. Transparency in the Chinese style.
