OSRAM at the EuroShop 2008: Trends in shop lighting

Optimal shop lighting presents merchandise in the right light, attracts customers and increases sales. OSRAM realised this long ago and will thus be at the EuroShop in Düsseldorf (23 – 27 February) again to introduce the latest trends in shop lighting. Whether cosmetics, clothing or cooling cabinets – the efficient lamps from OSRAM cast the right light on any product.

As a lighting expert with well over 100 years of experience, OSRAM offers a wide range of products. Maximum functionality and reliable quality are its highest maxims. At the EuroShop (Hall 11 Stand A 30), OSRAM will present its latest lighting solutions for shop lighting – from the slimline fluorescent lamp to halogen lamps and innovative LEDs. Fashion, cosmetics and food will feature as shining examples at its stand.

LED: Shop lighting with a future
LEDs from OSRAM promise a particularly successful future in shop lighting. The LED modules of the LINEARlight series, for example, are ideal for the illumination of cosmetics or foodstuffs: due to their low heat emission, these light emitting diodes can be installed close to heat-sensitive products. They are equally spot on for cooling cabinets, as are the innovative T5 fluorescent lamps from OSRAM. The latter are particularly intense with a high luminous flux even in low ambient temperatures of up to -10 degrees.

Providing a brilliant setting for shops and products
High-pressure discharge lamps such as the POWERBALL HCI Shoplight are ideal for ambient shop lighting. Their powerful light ensures excellent colour rendering and can be perfectly matched to the products. Where lighting is required close to objects, however, the halogen lamps from OSRAM best display their advantages. Drawing attention to the design or to unusual product details, its small dimensions mean that the lamp itself is hardly visible. The smallest halogen lamp in the world – the MINISTAR – is even smaller than a thimble. In display cabinets, it disappears discreetly in the bottom or the frame.

Light will feature as the focal point of the EuroShop 2008. The world’s No. 1 investment goods fair for the retail trade and its partners is thus reacting to the increasing interest of the sector in efficient lighting solutions. Gone are the days of the conventional, short-lived and inefficient incandescent lamp. Creative lighting ideas are in demand now, not only for effective product presentations but also to put customers in a buying mood and to save energy.
