The Mosa Matt Collection represents a revolutionary development in glazing technology.
Until today, it has been impossible to obtain a pure matt surface with glazed tiles. Glazing gives tiles properties such as surface density, acid resistance, shock resistance, light resistance and ease of cleaning. But the disadvantage of glazing is that glaze is always shiny. It always has some degree of gloss. Even matt glazed tiles are glossy to some extent.
Thanks to Mosa’s innovative ZRB glazing technology, it is now possible for the first time to produce a pure (powder) matt tactile tile while retaining the functional properties of effective glazing. This enables the production of budget-friendly, esthetically beautiful wall tiles that are also very matt and hard-wearing.
A renowned Dutch research centre (TNO) has examined a few specimens and compared them with regular glazed matt wall tiles which are in the market right now. The researchers found the matt surface of the Mosa Matt tile to be much matter than any other glazed matt wall tiles. The Mosa Mosa Matt tiles also proved to absorb and return more light.
The Mosa Matt collection can be perfectly combined with color-matched unglazed floor tiles, so that you are now able to achieve a fully monochrome tiled room.
Barely introduced and already Mosa has scooped the renowned Red Dot Design Award 2007, the noted iF material award and the DesignPlus Award with its new, innovative tile series Mosa Matt Collection®.
The prestigious Red Dot Design Award is awarded to a product that is both innovative as
progressive. The iF material award is presented to a company that has used a technological innovation to develop a material that has led to the creation of a high-quality product.
The Design Plus Award is awarded to a company and its designer during Material Visions 2007in Frankfurt.
The Mosa Matt Collection® represents a world breakthrough in matt glazed wall tiles. In fact, the glazed wall tiles in the new Mosa Matt Collection® are demonstrably much “matter” than any glazed wall tiles that are now on the market. They have the same powder-matt appearance as unglazed floor tiles while retaining the high Mosa standards, thanks to an innovative Mosa glazing process.
The 15 x 15 cm tiles are available in ceramic earth hues, black, white and neutral grey. They can be combined with matching Mosa floor tiles to create monochrome interiors.
The Red Dot Design Award, iF material award and Design Plus Award are awarded by organisations that enjoy international recognition in the field of design and innovation. The Red Dot Design Award jury comprises the most renowned designers, architects and scientists who assess 6,000 submissions a year from over 52 countries.
The iF material award jury consist of top designers who assess 1,800 submissions a year from 30 countries. The Design Plus award jury is formed by internationally renowned material and development experts.
Which is why we are justifiably proud of this recognition.
