The new shopping centre "Dumont-Carré" was opened on Cologne’s
shopping mile, Breite Strasse, on 24.10. On a total area of 27.000m²
47 tenants have moved onto the former property of the DuMont
publishing house. The entire investment for the project constructed by
architect Ulrich Coersmeier is put at DM 300 million. One of the principal
tenants is the Rewe Zentral-AG, whose CEO Hans Reischl underlined
at the opening the Carré claim to be one of the top properties in the
German retail trade.
