Contacts, opportunities, prospects: EuroShop 2005 - the future of retailing

The world's largest exhibition of capital goods for the retail industry and its partners from 19 to 23 February 2005 in Düsseldorf

From 19 to 23 February 2005, EuroShop, The Global Retail Trade Fair, will bring the international world of retailing and its partners together for no less than the 15th time at the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center. As the world's No. 1 capital goods trade fair for the retail industry, EuroShop is the top event in the sector every three years: This Year, more than 1,600 exhibitors from 48 countries will be showcasing their goods and services in 15 halls. Some 95,000 trade visitors from all five continents are expected in the city on the Rhine for the event.

In 2005, EuroConcept, EuroSales, EuroCIS and EuroExpo again feature as the four independent but interlinked segments under the EuroShop banner. While the thematic focus of EuroConcept is on shopfitting, store equipment, lighting technology, chilled and frozen food display cabinets, refrigeration equipment and building technology, EuroSales showcases visual merchandising, sales promotion and POS marketing in all its facets. EuroCIS presents the know-how behind the most modern products and solutions in communications, information and security technology, while EuroShop's EuroExpo segment features the entire range of creative options in exhibition stand construction, design and events.

Trade visitors to EuroShop, who include decision-makers from the food and non-food retail trade, the consumer and capital goods industry, wholesale, crafts and chain gastronomy alongside architects, interior designers, visual merchandisers, trade fair organisers and advertising professionals, will reap multiple benefits from their EuroShop visit again in 2005:
Each of the four EuroShop segments will have its own high-level conferences and hands-on forums. While the conferences require registration and a conference fee, the daily forums in the exhibition halls can be used free of charge and without registration by all visitors.

In keeping with tradition, the Architects' and Designers' Congress hosted by the EHI will mark the start of events here as a EuroConcept special. The EHI's Retail Innovation Congress will once again be an added highlight of the EuroCIS segment and draw top-calibre visitors from the international retail industry every bit as much as the EuroCIS Exhibitor Forum right at the hub of trade fair action. Following on from its successful debut at the last EuroShop, the EuroExpo Forum in Hall 9 will offer interesting panel discussions, lectures and workshops throughout the trade fair run.
In the EuroSales sector, 2005 will see the first staging of the "International EuroShop POP Conference”, being organised by the EHI retail network together with the world's leading sales promotion association POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International). In addition, POPAI will have its own stand in the EuroSales sector where member companies from Europe and elsewhere around the world will introduce themselves to EuroShop visitors and present a wide-ranging display of POP marketing issues.
Next year will also mark the debut of the Metro Group as an exhibitor. On an 800 m² stand in Hall 7a the Metro Group will present the latest generation of the Future Store and invite visitors to test for themselves high-tech solutions for tomorrow's retail world.
The debut of the EuroShop Designer Village will feature renowned architects and designers along with their latest retail projects, as well as innovative and customised concepts to help retailers make their branches even more irresistible to shoppers. The Designer Village was created especially for EuroShop by the design and architecture departments of the University of Applied Sciences in Coburg.

Staged in Halls 3-17 (excluding Hall 8) of the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center, EuroShop 2005 will welcome trade visitors daily from Saturday, 19 February to Wednesday 23 February 2005, between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm. One-day tickets are available for EUR 28, two-day tickets for EUR 45 and five-day tickets for EUR 90. Students and trainees will be admitted for EUR 10. Admission tickets entitle holders to travel to the fair and back free of charge on public transport within the fare zone of the Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Sieg Regional Transport Networks (VRR and VRS).
