31 October 2025 -VusionGroup, the world's leading provider of digitalization solutions for brick-and-mortar retail, announces a strategic partnership with DM-drogerie markt, Germany's leading drugstore chain. As part of this partnership, the innovative digital shelf platform EdgeSense, which integrates central communication, localization and connectivity, will be introduced - and gradually rolled out in stores. This initiative represents a significant milestone in DM's digital transformation and aims to create added value for customers, employees and overall operations.
Based on state-of-the-art technologies from the fields of IoT, data analysis, computer vision and artificial intelligence, EdgeSense supports DM in simplifying processes, reducing operational complexity and sustainably improving efficiency and the customer experience.
Store employees benefit from a significant simplification of their daily tasks, for example through faster and more precise product identification during order picking. Thanks to intuitive shelf indicators such as LED guidance systems(pick-to-light), routine tasks can be completed more quickly - leaving more time for personal customer service and better in-store support.
In addition, EdgeSense gives DM staff instant access to detailed product information via digital labels and mobile devices. This interactivity makes it easier for them to answer customer queries faster and in a more targeted manner, further optimizing the shopping experience.
Around 70 stores are planned in the current phase, of which around 20 are already live - with further rollouts in preparation.
