Van Straaten achieves ClimateCalc certification for the fourth consecutive year

Company expands to 30 certified substrates and publishes first Sustainability Report

 

Boesingheliede, 25 February 2026 – Van Straaten has successfully renewed its ClimateCalc certification for the fourth consecutive year. Compared to last year, four additional materials have been added to the certified portfolio, bringing the total to 30 substrates with independently verified CO₂ emission calculations.

 

At the same time, the company has published its first Sustainability Report this week. The report provides structured insight into policies, performance and measurable progress in areas such as energy use, emissions, waste reduction and circular initiatives.

ClimateCalc delivers externally verified CO₂ calculations for print production, from material to delivery. The certification enables transparent reporting and supports data-driven decisions in material selection and production methods.

Van Straaten started working with ClimateCalc in 2022 by establishing a baseline measurement of emissions per square metre. Since then, the company has systematically expanded its certified portfolio and strengthened its sustainability framework through the further development of its ISO 14001 environmental management system. The newly published Sustainability Report outlines this progression and provides context to the figures and ambitions.
