TOMRA showcases latest generation of reverse vending machines on show at EuroShop 2026

The latest generation of reverse vending solutions will be unveiled at EuroShop from  TOMRA Collection, leading provider of reverse vending machines  (RVMs) for drink container recycling. TOMRA at EuroShop will showcase multiple new and revamped reverse vending products and concepts, standing on the shoulders of some of its flagship machines. EuroShop, the world’s largest retail trade fair, takes place in Düsseldorf 22-26 February. TOMRA will be located in hall 7A at stand B07; learn more at  https://collection.tomra.com/euroshop2026.

“TOMRA takes a user-centric approach in the design of its reverse vending solutions, which includes considering the recycling experience not only of end consumers but also that of the retailers that host our RVMs,” explains Marius Fraurud, EVP and Head of TOMRA Collection. “Reverse vending has a proven impact for stores, their customers and our shared journey towards a world without waste. We have been excited to work with our retail customers to develop our latest generation of products on show at EuroShop, to truly anticipate and respond to evolving customer needs, and support customers in adapting to a changing market.”

Concept RVM for a multi-feed facelift, and concept for gentle glass handling

On show is an early concept for a revamped  TOMRA R1 , TOMRA's high-volume and high-speed multi-feed RVM that enables consumers to pour in entire bags of containers rather than inserting them one by one. Retailers report on average a 33% boost in user sessions, and 86% increase in container volumes, after installing TOMRA’s multi-feed solution. TOMRA R1’s makeover replaces the round hatch with a new front with a new in-feed solution, harmonizing the look and feel with the latest TOMRA R2 and TOMRA T100 RVM models. The wide, easily accessible in-feed makes returns even faster and more intuitive, and a modern user interface provides clear instructions. These enhancements seek to provide a convenient recycling experience for consumers and greater operational efficiency for retailers.

TOMRA also previews the SoftSlide concept for extending existing reverse vending installations to handle returns of glass bottles, supporting the growing demand for systems for reusable drink containers and the inclusion of reusable containers in the  Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation  (PPWR). With this concept, TOMRA demonstrates the flexibility of its systems to be retro-fitted for changing recycling needs, while ensuring a smooth, streamlined transition for store operations.

These two early concepts seek to gather feedback and insights from customers at EuroShop toward developing the final version.

Newly launched reverse vending solutions

Making their trade show debuts are the TOMRA T100 and TOMRA S2 Rugged Plus reverse vending machines, upgraded TOMRA MultiPac, Side-By-Side crate unit, TOMRA BinoQ assist reverse vending notification tool, plus an updated TOMRA R2 – the customer magnet that lets users conveniently pour in bag after bag of containers – which becomes TOMRA's first “multi-feed” RVM to accept glass bottles.

TOMRA will launch for EuroShop its next-generation RVM,  TOMRA T100 , the latest innovation in single-feed container returns. TOMRA T100 builds on the success of the company’s single-feed RVM, TOMRA T9, with a design makeover answering retailer wishes to increase the attractiveness of their stores’ reverse vending areas, give recyclers a best-in-class experience to bring footfall and build customer loyalty. TOMRA T100 also incorporates strategic material choices and anti-corrosion coatings for greater machine durability, and power-saving features like dimming and sleep mode when the RVM is not in use. To guide the end‑consumer, the RVM provides light guidance above the in-feed and clear, easy‑to‑follow instructions on a high‑brightness display. TOMRA T100 offers modularity for different configurations to accept containers and crates, making it easily upgradeable and ready for future recycling regulations.

TOMRA S2 Rugged Plus  launched in November following the success  TOMRA S1 Rugged , TOMRA’s first RVM specifically designed for outdoor use, so that retailers don't have to take up valuable floor space inside. Responding to customer demand and changing regulations such as the PPWR, TOMRA S2 Rugged Plus offers greater storage and adaptability for retailers. With its modular design, retailers can add a SoftDrop module to handle reusable glass bottles, or an extra module dedicated to storage. (For single-use bottles, an optional glass crusher configuration is integrated within the unit.) Built for durability in all weather conditions, the TOMRA S2 Rugged Plus features resilient materials and a high-visibility screen that remains clear even under direct sunlight.

Also debuting is the updated  TOMRA R2 , becoming TOMRA's first “multi-feed” RVM to accept glass bottles. This feature for gentle glass handling has been requested by several regions with deposit return systems that feature glass, to provide consumers with a one-stop location to return all types of containers. When the RVM detects glass bottles, it operates at a lower speed, to ensure gentler handling. Also new with TOMRA R2 is a cleaning assist module, the first TOMRA offering of its kind, which automatically sprays water periodically on key inner areas of the machine, ensuring modules remain free of liquid and dirt. This maintains performance, keeps the machine cleaner for longer and minimizes manual cleaning effort, freeing up valuable time for staff.

The  TOMRA MultiPac  backroom storage solution upgrades with a switch from steel cabinet doors to polymer ones, making the doors lighter and easier for retail staff to handle, and  reducing the carbon emissions  related to the production of the doors. The addition of transparent tunnels simplifies error detection. As a bonus for countries where consumers return drink containers in crates, the new and space-efficient TOMRA Side-By-Side crate unit enables crate returns as a companion beside selected TOMRA RVM models, to fit more storage room layouts and make it easy to upgrade reverse vending systems to accept crates.

TOMRA will also show the new  TOMRA BinoQ and TOMRA BinoQ Assist digital solutions . BinoQ seeks to provide retail managers and decision-makers with the data and tools to optimize their RVM fleets, reduce downtime, and plan smarter across multiple sites. BinoQ Assist is a tool for operational staff to act instantly or plan ahead with real-time monitoring of reverse vending activity and smart alerts. Expanding upon the existing Notify+Assist tool, BinoQ Assist offers a simplified user experience, enhanced notification functionality, and more. Together, these solutions give insights for managers, and prompt actions from retail staff. TOMRA BinoQ is already used by more than 200 customer organizations across the world.
