Based on the new EU Packaging and Waste Regulation (PPWR), at least 90% of all single-use plastic bottles and cans must be collected by 2029. A deposit return scheme (DRS) is not mandatory, but in practice it is the most effective way to reliably achieve this goal. It creates an incentive for consumers not to carelessly throw away bottles and cans, but to return them to reverse vending machines for recycling. Many EU member states are therefore planning to introduce new deposit return schemes for single-use beverage packaging or have already done so.
At insensiv GmbH, we not only want to accompany this change, but also actively participate in shaping it based on our many years of experience in several deposit systems. Our intelligent camera systems for verifying packaging that contains a deposit provide the technological basis for efficient and secure return systems. As an OEM supplier, we equip manufacturers of reverse vending machines with the technology required for reliable analysis of returned packaging. For a customer-friendly return process and to prevent manipulation. We will be presenting these RVM recognition components at EuroShop 2026.
Visit us at booth B03 in hall 7A and discover the latest developments in recognition technology for beverage packaging.
