Munich, February 17, 2023 - With the PC612 from Giada, value added distributor Concept International completes the generation change in slide-in computers in OPS format (Open Pluggable Specification). Via a standardized slide-in slot in the display, the computer works with an 80-pin JAE connector in seconds like an internal PC with up to 8K resolution. Another 4K display can be connected via an HDMI port located on the outside. The 12th generation Intel processors (Alder Lake) are 19 percent faster than the previous generation and guarantee the best performance and reactivity. Even up to 30 percent more performance is possible with the graphics. The reliable mini computer is particularly well suited for oversized monitors (Large Format Displays - LFD) and for interactive whiteboards, such as those used in schools or educational institutions. The Giada PC612 OPS digital signage player is available now from Concept International.
At the heart of Giada's latest PC612 OPS player are Intel's 12th generation Alder Lake i3, i5 and i7 processors. The entry-level model comes with an i-Celeron processor. All CPUs offer a significant speed boost over 11th-generation processors to meet increasing demands for brilliance, reactivity and interaction. Features demanded by AI applications, high-resolution multimedia presentations or interactive collaboration, for example.
Giada is focusing on soldering the CPUs back in, not plugging them in. The U-series of CPUs allow variable clock speeds from 1.0 GHz to 4.4 GHz at up to 55 watts - an incredible performance breadth.
The mini computer lies in the hand like a small hardcover book and shows an impressive performance: The primary screen can be operated with 8K, i.e. a maximum of 7680 x 4320 pixels, the secondary monitor with 4K, i.e. 4096 x 2160 pixels. Both at a flicker-free 60 Hz. The PC612 thus represents the top of the DS player food chain at Giada. A 3m display looks razor-sharp even at close range. High-end retail, fashion and high-end consumers with the highest demands on the home TV PC are the target groups.
Generation change brings more performance in all areas
In the i3 configuration, the Intel UHD Graphics GPU takes care of the graphics implementation for standard demands. If it needs to be a bit more, the Intel-Iris-Xe graphics processor takes over in an i5 or i7 configuration. A chip combination with high performance and very low energy consumption. The RAM rounds off the picture with up to 32 GB in two SO-DIMM slots for DDR4-3200 MHz bars.
Connectivity leaves nothing to be desired
If desired, the PC612 can be expanded with any suitable SSD hard drive via an M2 slot. Alternatively, the contents come from the network via PXE. Access to the network is possible via plug-in WLAN6/BT modules, so an efficient adaptation to new standards is done with a flick of the wrist. In addition, the classic RJ45 connection for the network is still available.
Peripheral devices, such as the camera that is indispensable in the education sector, are enabled via one USB-C, two USB3.2 or two USB2.0 ports with correspondingly integrated power supply. Microphone and speaker connections for multimedia interactivity are also available.
Security on the hardware level as well
The Intel vPro technology, which is intended for companies and optionally available, offers management tools and security against cyber threats on the hardware level. Below-the-OS security, data protection, TPM and Advanced Threat Detection enhance firmware-level protection. The dedicated TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) module, also available as an option, secures the mini-PC by shielding certificates through strong keys. In contrast to the standard firmware TPM, the hardware TPM ensures faster hard disk accesses for encrypted data. This hardware layer prevents unauthorized access.
24/7 availability is ensured by Giada's JAHC technology. This hardware component also includes the watchdog for automatic reboot when the software hangs and, with RTC (Real-Time Clock), additionally enables the PC to be booted and shut down at different times of the day and night.
"After the introduction of a new manufacturing technology with the 11th CPU generation, the 12th generation now provides the corresponding performance boost, especially in the graphics area. Particularly in interactive whiteboards, the PC612 provides never-before-seen responsiveness for writing and drawing - a real joy for teachers and students alike," said Mike Finckh, founder and CEO of Concept International.
List Price, Project Work and Channel Offers
The PC612 is available now from Concept International at a price starting at 470 euros. Resellers, digital signage and AV system integrators receive attractive conditions and SLAs. On request, Concept International supports the roll-out of projects with the Total Preparation Service: The players are delivered configured and endurance tested for specific projects, even in large quantities. They can be deployed plug-and-play on site. Concept has a stock in Germany and assembles at its headquarters in Munich, which enables fast response times if required.
