Light and sound in one device: Axis Communications launches AXIS D4200-VE Network Strobe Speaker

Ismaning, 08.05.2025 - Axis Communications , a technology leader in network video, launches the AXIS D4200-VE Network Strobe Speaker, a powerful all-in-one alarm speaker with strobe light, audio, and two-way communication capabilities. This versatile speaker can be used both indoors and outdoors and is suitable for applications requiring both audiovisual and informational output.

The AXIS D4200-VE Network Strobe Speaker is an audiovisual signaling and alarm device that combines multi-color strobe light, alarm tone, and speaker functionality in a single unit. The strobe light offers a total of nine colors and various light patterns, which can be combined as needed. The versatile speaker with two-way audio allows for custom, pre-recorded or live announcements and alarm tones, in addition to visual communication via the strobe light function.

The AXIS D4200-VE Network Strobe Speaker is built on the same foundation as AXIS Network Speakers. Therefore, the new Strobe Speaker also features support for AXIS Audio Manager , Axis' proven audio management software that enables 24/7 control of all audio devices in complex security or audio-only installations from a single user interface. AXIS Audio Manager offers individual zone management, integrated operational monitoring of the device's functionality, and pre-scheduling of announcements and other audio content via schedules.

The Strobe Speaker also features AXIS Audio Analytics , an AI-based audio analytics feature "on the edge." This technology detects relevant sounds such as breaking glass, loud shouting, or screaming based on their sound pattern and automatically triggers predefined alerts and alarms. While security personnel are immediately notified of an unauthorized intrusion, the Strobe Speaker's audiovisual alarm deters potential intruders and specifically disrupts them in their tracks. The element of surprise thus effectively prevents major damage before security personnel arrive. Incident response can be triggered, if necessary, by other security devices in the system connected to the Strobe Speaker, such as cameras, radar devices, or sensors, including third-party sensors.

Easy installation and cost-effective operation

The AXIS D4200-VE Network Strobe Speaker is the first Axis speaker with power forwarding. It features a PoE output for connecting and powering PoE devices. This enables simpler and more cost-effective installation, configuration, and maintenance, significantly reducing the total cost of ownership of the device and the entire system. Furthermore, there are numerous integration options for additional components with VAPIX, SIP, MQTT, and I/O.

Axis Edge Vault , a hardware-based cybersecurity platform certified to the US cybersecurity standard FIPS 140-3 Level 3, protects the speaker from cyber threats. Furthermore, the rugged device is IP66, NEMA-4X, and IK09 certified, allowing it to be used indoors and outdoors at a range of temperatures—an optional sunshade is available for the latter.
