Hear and see: Axis Communications introduces AXIS C17 Network Display Speaker Series

Ismaning, August 26, 2025 - Axis Communications , a technology leader in network video, is launching the AXIS C17 Network Display Speaker Series, a new series of multifunctional display speakers. These speakers offer a combination of visual and audible alerts for enhanced security, intrusion protection, operational efficiency, or a pleasant atmosphere. The new models are particularly suitable for indoor use in schools, healthcare facilities, or passageways in logistics centers and similar scenarios.

The new C17 series currently includes two models: the AXIS C1710 Network Display Speaker, ideal for wall mounting, and the double-sided AXIS C1720 Network Display Speaker, particularly suited for installation in hallways. Both combine visual and audible communication in a single, powerful device: A striking strobe light draws immediate attention, a speaker delivers clear speech reproduction, even in noisy environments, and an easy-to-read color display shows text information that automatically adjusts to changing lighting conditions.

This combination enables scheduled and ad-hoc announcements and text, as well as efficient background music. Full-duplex two-way audio with echo cancellation also enables interactive conversations with people on-site in real time. Integrated digital signal processing also guarantees high sound quality, even in acoustically challenging environments. Content prioritization also ensures that safety-relevant messages always take precedence over scheduled, regular audio outputs.

The functions – audio, display text, and strobe – can be used individually or flexibly combined. For example, a static text display can be automatically read aloud or a discreet alarm can be triggered visually. The color text display automatically adjusts its brightness to the ambient lighting and offers a flexibly adjustable text size for optimal readability – even from a distance. The strobe can also be individually configured: The color and light pattern can be adjusted depending on the application to specifically attract attention or visually mark different events.

Easy to integrate and install

The AXIS C17 Series is fully compatible with AXIS Audio Manager Pro, a powerful audio management software for managing enterprise-wide, location-independent audio systems. Because the C17 Series is based on open standards, it integrates seamlessly with existing Axis systems, such as cameras, or with third-party sound reinforcement solutions.

The new display speakers also impress with their simple, quick, and secure installation. The AXIS C1710 comes with a wall mount, while separate wall and ceiling mounts are available for the AXIS C1720. Once the respective mount is secured to the installation location, the device can be hung, leaving the installer with both hands free to connect the PoE cable and securely tighten the screws.
