Attractive and vital city centres - also with bike-friendliness!
The quality of life in city centres - a “hot topic” of EuroShop 2023 - is determined by urban planning and design, by new and sustainable retail concepts, and also by making city centres accessible for sustainable transport.
Competitions like STADTRADELN motivate people to get around the city centre by bike. They ensure more life in the city centre and a good climate balance. A team of eight students from Worms University of Applied Sciences came in first place in the "Most Cycling Active Team Members" category of the STADTRADELN 2022 in Worms! An average of 326 bike kilometres per team member on the way to the university and in the city for shopping: That shows the perseverance and commitment of the students and provided life in the cathedral city. And by cycling each member avoided emission of 50kg of CO2 – which also helped to make the city of Worms more livable.
