TOMRA presents the UNO Promo at EuroShop 2011

TOMRA, a leading global provider of advanced solutions enabling recovery and recycling of materials, is presenting at the EuroShop retail trade fair in Düsseldorf a new product: the UNO Promo.

With its features enabling several promotional and advertising capabilities, the UNO Promo is measuring itself to be a valued “assistant” making recycling easy and attractive almost anywhere. Not only the convenience segment but also more un-traditional sites like hotels, airports and sports arenas will easily find space for this compact reverse vending machine. The UNO Promo is designed as a compact, self-contained automated return solution that accepts both refillable and non-refillable containers – and it can be placed both indoor and outdoor.

Great opportunities for branding and promotion activities
The UNO Promo has a large touch screen neatly placed in the middle of the operational area.
The UNO Promo allows chain/store management to easily administer activities shown in the screen - excellent for targeted brand building and promotions such as customized couponing, promo-videos and screen-ads. The promotional activities can be linked to data captured in the consumer sessions, depending on what was recycled. The loyalty card reader additionally opens for utilization of data from customer databases. The activities can be managed on-site or in cooperation with third party and they may generate new income streams rapidly paying for the investment.

Integrated advertising board
The machine is designed allowing for decoration of a greater part of the cabinet. The main area is equipped with a water-tight frame where ads can be swiftly changed by store personnel.

A clear way to attract customers
Several market studies in Europe have shown that up to 20%* of consumers who are currently returning empties in large grocery stores actually would prefer to return at convenience stores if these stores offered a reverse vending machine. As much as 80%* of consumers at gas station think that it is extremely of very appropriate for the station to have a reverse vending machine. Since consumers who return empties spend up to 52% more when shopping, it is clear that offering this service can be very attractive for convenience stores.

Regular deliveries from Q3, 2011
