Sortimo's L-BOXX nominated 'Product of the Year 2010'
Sortimo's L-BOXX system has been nominated 'Product of the Year 2010'. Innovative in design and function, our BOXX system with the double X was awarded this prize in the category 'Storage and Transport Systems' as part of the contest organised by Pro K Industrieverband Halbzeuge und Konsumprodukte aus Kunststoff e. V. With this award, our versatile BOXX joins the ranks of famous brand-name products such as Playmobil, Lego, Braun and Rimowa.
Pro K Industrieverband Halbzeuge und Konsumprodukte aus Kunststoff e.V. has been honouring plastic products that display a perfect symbiosis between function and design for the last 30 years. Next year, no less than 18 manufacturers will receive the award – among them the in-vehicle equipper Sortimo with its new L-BOXX. The market leader presented its newly developed L-BOXX to the jury of the 'Product of the Year 2010' in the category 'Storage and Transport Systems'. Available in four different sizes, the generously dimensioned plastic boxes are ideal for stowing tools, small components, files, office utensils and all sorts of other implements such that they are ready to hand and clearly arranged. Dependent on the size, the inside of each BOXX can accommodate vacuum-formed inserts, tool inserts made of wood, pre-cut foam inserts, suspension file racks and sets of inset boxes. Every BOXX is light in weight and has a hinged tote handle on the top as well as handles on each side. The two robust snap locks make the cover of every BOXX easy to open and lock. And if the situation calls for more than usual to be transported, the click system permits several L-BOXXes to be stacked and clicked together. Just stack them one on top of the other and use the handle on the topmost L-BOXX to carry the whole stack.
The new L-BOXX represents Sortimo's corporate maxim: any kind of work material can be stowed away securely and neatly for transport and then presented elegantly on site! The L-BOXX makes mobile organisation portable, stackable and clickable, and thanks to its compatible dimensions, fits seamlessly into the market-leading Globelyst System from Sortimo. The jury noted that "the Sortimo L-BOXX system sets itself apart by virtue of its high-quality finish and its automatic self-locking system. It is universal in use and has a spacious stowage area, but is nevertheless extremely compact."
Ralf Olsen, chief executive of Pro K Industrieverband, presented the 'Product of the Year 2010' certificate at a festive ceremony on Sortimo's premises in Zusmarshausen on 18 February 2010. The prize-winning system with the double X was presented to the general public in a special show at the Ambiente 2010 (12 – 16 February 2010) in Frankfurt and at the K 2010, the world's largest trade fair for plastics and rubber in Düsseldorf from 27 October – 3 November 2010.
