SATO presents a broad portfolio of retail labelling solutions at EuroShop 2014

TH2 to reach the new EU-Food Regulation Law

SATO, a worldwide leader in barcode printing, labelling and EPC/RFID solutions, is presenting a broad spectrum of printing and labelling solutions for European retailers at this year’s EuroShop trade show in Düsseldorf (Germany). Products and applications for auto-ID and a new hand labelling solution (HLS) for freshness labelling will top the bill at stand B76 in Hall 6. From the 16th to the 20th of February, trade visitors can feast their eyes on the impressive features of the barcode printers and labelling solutions for the retail sector at the SATO stand. They are consistently designed to help retailers improve their customer service, enhance the efficiency of operating processes, optimise stock management and cope with rising cost pressure.

The demands of the sector are wide-ranging, extending from labelling for price reductions and special offers to labelling products with short shelf life, shelf labelling, fashion item labelling, tags and self-adhesive labels. SATO covers virtually the full range of applications in the retail sector with its extensive portfolio of printing, auto-ID and labelling solutions, which offer an attractive cost/benefit ratio for small independent firms as well as large retail chains. Among other things, these products help retailers implement solutions for price mark-down, price mark-up and EU-compliant food labelling, RFID tracking and security easily and economically.

In the compact desktop printer category, the innovative TH2 label printer is the clear leader when it comes to devising sophisticated labelling and marking solutions. It provides a mobile, versatile and intelligent printing solution for implementing the Application Enabled Printing (AEP) concept. The TH2 comes to the fore in retail use, where it facilitates adaptable, comprehensive and quick labelling for price mark-downs and promotional campaigns. This Standalone printer is additionally an outstanding choice for food processing companies, particularly including fast-foot restaurants. Printing allergy notices in boldface is also possible. All this makes SATO one of the few auto-ID manufacturers that are already able to offer economical and practical solutions for compliance with EU Regulation 1169/2011 on the labelling of food products, which takes effect on 13 December 2014. An integrated real-time clock makes it easy for users to conform to all legal regulations for food preparation and labelling. The TH2 features extremely high value for money.

Another highlight in Düsseldorf will be the thermal and direct thermal printers in the TG3 family, which feature automatic printing, cutting and stacking for convenient printing and separation of labels in series printing. This makes the TG3 printers especially suitable for fashion shops as well as highly demanding labelling applications such as fanfold or roll labels and tags for clothing, accessories, household goods, furnishings and many other items.

In the hand labelling machine area, SATO is exhibiting their new DateRight hand labeller for mobile freshness labelling in the restaurant and catering sector and the food industry. This low-cost device enables users to label food products cost-effectively and with high detail. The DateRight hand labeller conforms to the standards of the food industry, and with its highly adaptable labelling options it meets the specific needs of the food sector. As a pioneer in price labelling, SATO offers not only the proven Judo, Kendo and PB3 models but also a broad selection of sturdy, lightweight hand labelling systems with one, two or three lines, which allow both small and very large numbers of items to be marked quickly and reliably.

The following printer models specifically for the retail sector will also be on display at the SATO stand: DR3 plus keyboard for shelf labelling, CG2 for food labelling, CG4 for POS use with tablet or BlueTooth control, MB2 for mobile printing of Android labels and linerless labels, MB4 industrial printer with a hard-rubber sleeve for drop protection and the option of smartphone remote control, and CT4i with 600 dpi resolution and 2D barcode printing capability.

SATO additionally supports the Fujitsu Solutions programme and will be represented at the Fujitsu stand with a retail labelling solution for the SAP environment.
