Round two for EuroShop // JAPAN SHOP Shop Design Award

EuroShop JAPAN SHOP Award

In Cooperation with the German Embassy in Tokyo and Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Duesseldorf Trade Fair organizes the design competition “EuroShop // JAPANSHOP Design Award." They are supported by many Japanese organizations from the design industry. Other patrons aside from the German Embassy in Tokyo are the Japanese Consulate Dusseldorf and the EHI Retail Institute.

The competition is about special Japanese store design concepts which reflect the tradition of the country and the essence of Japan. Hiroshi Kashiwagi is a professor at Musashino Art University and was curator of the exhibition "Wa - the Spirit of Harmony" in the red dot design Museum in 2009. He will head the jury that, in a two-stage process, will nominate the winners in the categories "General Competition (completed projects)" and "Design Ideas".

The very first competition of EuroShop // JAPANSHOP Design Award was organized as part of "150 Years of Friendship Germany - Japan". It has been very well received. There were 174 applications in the category of already realized projects and the category "Design Ideas and Proposals" was with its 57 applications a success too.

The winners’ designs of EuroShop // JAPAN SHOP Design Award 2013 will be presented next year at the EuroShop, world's leading trade fair in retail (16th to 20th February 2014), in Dusseldorf and at JAPANSHOP (4th to 7th March 2014).
