Citizen Systems Europe's MD Updates on Japanese Situation

We have received many emails and phone calls from across Europe and they all share the grief and shock felt in Japan of losing so many people.
Following on from the tragic events in Japan, Citizen has been reviewing its operations and is fortunately able to confirm no major impact on our own facilities and no reported injuries to staff within Citizen itself.
Tokyo and its suburbs, where Citizen's HQ is located, is suffering from "rolling power shut-downs" causing some difficulties for transportation and commuting although our staff are able to adapt successfully to these challenges.
We are all trying to minimize the impact to production and delivery, however this time’s disaster in Japan was so extraordinary and may cause direct and indirect influence to our normal work process.
The on-going issues with the Fukushima nuclear power plant are of course very concerning. However, we have not detected any issues due to radiation relating to our products.
Independently of any official government advice, we have started a screening process for goods stored or transiting through our warehouses in Japan to ensure they are free of any contamination.
Our Barcode and newer POS products are now produced in China so we do not anticipate any major interruptions to business here in Europe.
Citizen Systems Europe's staff, their family and friends have been donating financially to support the earthquake and tsunami appeal. I was personally very pleased to be able to make such a substantial donation from all my colleagues here in Europe.
Should you wish to contribute, please contact me directly or make a donation via your local Red Cross society.
Once again many thanks for your kind support and consideration for the whole of the country of Japan.
