Certified Single Screw Application

In 2010, JSC Genys, a partner of Emerson Climate Technologies, joined the design and construction teams in Druskininkai, a spa town on the Nemunas River in southern Lithuania, to build one of the largest indoor skiing slopes. Today the SNORAS Snow Arena, a 65 meters tall indoor ski slope, attracts skiers from all over the world. This arena is powered by three Vilter single-screw ammonia refrigeration compressors. Two VSS-901 screw compressors with a total cooling capacity of 1,350 kW maintain the air temperature at SNORAS and freeze the floors. Another VSS-751 compressor with 370 kW capacity is used for the snow making. The complete refrigeration system is based on a sustainable energy efficient concept to save money and protect the environment. At the opening ceremony of the new Arena this September, Michael Bornhorst, Vice President Business Development, handed the “Certificate for Achievement” for an outstanding professional installation of Vilter compressor units over to Mindaugas Zabiela, Director at Genys. The refrigeration company was awarded for their modern industrial application concept with the excellent natural refrigerant ammonia.
