Centiva announces sustainability certification for Contour and Victory series

Centiva announced today the certification of its Contour and Victory Series products to the NSF/ANSI-332 Sustainability Assessment for Resilient Floor Coverings. These products achieved the silver level certification in the NSF 332 Assessment process conducted by UL Environment.

The NSF/ANSI-332 Sustainability Assessment for Resilient Floor Coverings considers multiple attributes of the product and has prerequisites and potential points in six key areas: 1)Product Design, 2) Product Manufacturing, 3) Long-term Value, 4) End of Life Management, 5) Corporate Governance, and 6) Innovation. The Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) with the assistance of NSF International began developing this sustainability assessment for resilient floor covering products in 2006. A multistakeholder
committee was formed with balanced representation from the end user, manufacturer, and regulatory groups to provide the commercial market with an easy to understand certification for resilient flooring products. The standard allows transparency and open understanding regarding conformance requirements, providing for more understandable and meaningful marketplace comparisons.

“We are glad to have achieved certification of the products we make at our Florence, Alabama plant,” said Garth Gaffney, Technical Director. “Through The Centiva Green Way®, our environmental initiatives program, we’ve continuously worked on each of the six areas recognized by the NSF/ANSI-332 standard.”

“Achieving this certification is yet another milestone in the story of The Centiva Green Way®.” said Erin Dempsey, Public Relations – Environment & Strategy at Centiva. “This certification helps assure customers, designers, and stakeholders that environmental impacts are being considered though out the design, manufacturing, and use of our products.”
