With the slogan "Open World", Bizerba orientates itself towards global partnerships. The goal: to combine the specialist competence of international companies which belong to the relevant global market leaders in their sector with the key competences of Bizerba regarding system solutions. At the EuroShop 201, this new paradigm will become clear: here Bizerba will present a modular POS solution for system gastronomers, bistros, company canteens, drive-in stores and fast food restaurants in cooperation with Procom.
The installation consists of the modular Bizerba POS solution K-class flex and the software iPOS from the company Procom from Darmstadt. It serves all essential business processes: from taking the order with mobile devices, to communication with the kitchen up to the management of the tables and the compilation of the bill. A wide range of peripheral devices has already been integrated into the system: in addition to the mobile devices, there are also magnet card readers, scanners and EC devices, transponder chips and even coffee machines. As the system is designed according to open standards, it can be expanded at any time.
Roll-out of more than 1000 systems in April 2011
"The system has already been successfully tested in test installations throughout Europe in various restaurants. The roll-out of more than 1000 systems will begin in April 2011“, says Peter Laudien-Weidenfeller, Director of Global Retail Sales at Bizerba. Amongst other things, the system would then be used by a significant system gastronomer.
As the K-class flex is developed in a modular way, gastronomers can limit themselves to buying just the parts that they really need. Central unit, scales, cash register drawer, operator and customer displays as well as a printer can also be positioned in a space-saving way. In the future, the solution will thus also be used in smaller butchers and bakeries with a connected snack bar, and indeed with the corresponding software which corresponds most appropriately to the respective customer requirements.
Can be seen at the EuroShop 2011 in Düsseldorf
The K-class flex with Procom till software can also be seen at the EuroShop 2011. At the Bizerba stand (hall 6, booth E56), visitors can examine the precise functionalities of the system from 26th February to 2nd March: using mobile devices, the waiter can take orders and send them to the system wirelessly by radio. Here the data is registered and saved, assigned to the respective table and forwarded to a printer or a display in the kitchen. The final bill is also issued with this system. A security concept and recovery concept completes the installation in terms of failure protection and maintenance friendliness.
The new company orientation creates synergies
The solution is documented by Open World from Bizerba, the pivotal point and centre of the current company orientation: "Bizerba will no longer offer just hardware and software solutions in the future but also the expertise of global partner companies“, according to Laudien-Weidenfeller. No scales provider would be able to offer all functionalities alone which large companies require for their counters, restaurants and table service. The cooperation with Procom is an example of how Bizerba creates synergies with "unique opportunities for the company, partners and particularly the customers from all around the world“, adds Laudien-Weidenfeller finally.
