Bizerba: management of branches - No chance of deterioration (hall 6, booth E56)

The constantly growing proportion of fresh goods demands a new way of thinking from food retailers and poses them significant challenges: goods flows must be centrally managed, controlled in real time and adapted to the respective local sales conditions. Bizerba creates the framework conditions with the RetailFramework software family in order to implement these requirements quickly, pragmatically and consistently.

The retailer sends prices and advertising slogans from the central back office to all tills, scales, price tools and digital posters of the individual branches and departments at the same time. As this concerns a web-based application, the individual stages of this management also take place from a notebook or even a smartphone. The era of mobility in retail has thus also reached fresh goods departments.

Successfully in use: a scalable solution for all formats

The RetailFramework is used at various expansion stages in the meantime in international and local companies. "It supports all types of scales and topologies. Heterogeneous customer environments
which consist of scales systems from various suppliers can thus be homogenously managed“, explains Tudor Andronic, Director of Global Retail Solutions at Bizerba. As the individual modules function independently from one another and can be combined with one another in a flexible way, the system is suitable for both small retailers and large retail companies with several branches and offers which change regularly. "The web based topology“, continues Andronic, "eases the complexity of global processes. It is a scalable solution for all formats.“

Bizerba will present a cockpit shaped back office at the EuroShop 2011 in Düsseldorf from 26th February to 2nd March (hall 6, booth E56). Here different retail tasks will be shown with individual modules.

Adapt fast responding advertising duration and frequency to sales figures

The advertising slogans can be generated and managed using the RetailImpact module. The retailer can thus design the contents themselves or incorporate them in finished form from the RetailMall online shop. The subsequent data transfer takes place via the RetailControl module. Like a package with a return slip, the controlled devices send a signal that all prices and advertising contents have been updated and all configurations and updates have been assumed. Using the sale statistics of the individual products, the user can also decide how long the individual advertising slogans should be presented.

Consistently open

The software is designed in accordance with open standards so that its use is also possible in branches which do not work with Bizerba end devices. With the RetailConnect module, a corresponding interface software tool is available. At the same time, the system can be expanded at any time by software solutions from partner companies. "This new orientation in the direction of collaboration opens up unique opportunities to Bizerba, our partners and particularly our customers from all around the world“, continues Andronic.

Fast responding service – short downtimes – flexible contracts

When handling fresh food, downtime security plays a crucial role. In order to keep this to a bare minimum, e-servicing is installed on the PC scales. In the event of a problem, the product specialists can access the unit via the internet, analyse software and hardware problems promptly and very often restore the functionality of the systems immediately.This service is often particularly in demand for newly installed plants in order to support the sales personnel on site during induction. The precise response times are regulated by service contracts which can be flexibly adapted to the respective customer needs.
