The GSP angle cutting machine is particularly well suited to cutting meat, firm vegetables, bread or cheese. It is energy-efficient and has been developed in accordance with the Hygienic Designs guidelines: Some components, such as the blade cover and the holder for the goods to be cut, can be quickly dissembled for cleaning. With a Ceraclean finish, it is dishwasher-safe and resistant to all types of cleaning agents.
Hygiene generates an added value and increases customer loyalty
Ceraclean, the new GSP-H surface finishing, uses the water and dirt repellent lotus effect: as the goods to be cut hardly stick and the knife clogs less, food is less contaminated and lasts longer. At the same time, the devices are sturdier, more powerful and more resistant to rust, optically fit into the hygienic ambience of food retailers and thus make a further contribution to active customer retention. Combined with an improved energy balance, a greater productivity results for the user. The good gliding properties also enable virtually effortless working on the machine without great use of physical strength.
Test customers confirm: the GSP can be cleaned in half the time – an energy saving of around
60 % is possible
In the initial pilot projects, customers have confirmed that they can clean the Ceraclean machines in approximately half the standard time. The fact that the new surface material also makes the devices sturdier has been proved by Bizerba in the so-called abrasion test. "Here the surface was subject to 240 grain sandpaper and a load of two kilograms. The classic finishing material Eloxal resisted this load for around 1,300 strokes. In contrast, Ceraclean was able to resist for more than 45,000 strokes“, explains Martin Arndt, technical manager at Bizerba. The energy efficiency of the GSP-HD was also tested. In direct comparison to standard machines, an energy saving of more than 60 % could be achieved when cutting and more than 70 % in neutral. When switched off but plugged into the mains, a zero energy consumption is achieved.
The perfect expansion stage for every sale situation
Various versions of the GSP exist for the butcher's shop, food retailers, delicatessen sections, bakeries and large kitchens. The smallest and most cost-effective expansion stage, the Valueline GSP-V is intended for small food businesses. On the next stage upwards, the Highline GSP-H, individual components such as various interface models and surface finishings can be freely combined with one another. Finally, the fully-automated model, the GSP-HD, is particularly well-suited to use in larger supermarkets. Here the goods to be cut only have to be placed in the slide by hand, the slide movement itself is motor-driven.
The new angle cutting machine can be seen at the EuroShop 2011 in Düsseldorf from 26th February to 2nd March (hall 6, booth E56).
"Pursuant to the hygienic design guidelines“, continues Arndt, "the number of joints has also been reduced, a drain gutter integrated into the limit plate and the machine casing on the front slightly lifted. This should prevent liquid from the goods cut heading in the user's direction“. A so-called lifting device should enable the entire machine to be lifted for cleaning without any great effort. All GSP models are marked with the relevant European and American certification correspondingly (CE/ETL Electric/ETL Sanitation)
Special oil guarantees optimum hygiene
Particularly stressed surfaces of the angle cutting machines are looked after with the H1 "Food Grade“ service oil. "The oil is specially designed for high demands in food technology and complies with the most stringent global food regulations", explains Robert Keller, Director Business Services at Bizerba. The food retailer can score points with this product precisely in food counter areas as it is here that "customers pay particular attention to clean and maintained devices", continues Keller. At the same time, the oil prevents corrosion and protects from oxidation. It can also be used as lubricating oil for creaky joints or shafts. The oil is odourless.
