At the end of 2010 FAIRNET Company for Fair, Exhibition and Event Services mbH can look back on a year of successful business development. Its subsidiary Leipziger Messe (Leipzig Trade Fair company) is expecting a turnover of 21 million euros (2009: 20.4 million euros). “We have strengthened our market position – not least thanks to our new sales strategy – and achieved growth”, said Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of FAIRNET and spokesman for the Leipziger Messe management board.
In saying this he was not only measuring success by the rise in turnover. In fact, important new customers have been gained, such as the Austrian company EREMA, the world market leader in plastic recycling machines. Moreover, renowned regular clients such as Fraport AG have extended their contracts.
One far-reaching event in the 2010 business year was FAIRNET’s repositioning. The new communication strategy gets across its portfolio of services more clearly. The new FAIRNET brand will be presented to the general public at large at EUROSHOP.
For 2011, FAIRNET’s authorized representative Dirk Deumeland has already ventured an optimistic forecast: “There are encouraging signs that our successful development trend will continue. We have already got some major contracts lined up.” Following a European call for proposals for its trade fair presentations, for example, the Fraunhofer Society has selected FAIRNET again for the next three years.
