Indian retail has developed rather slowly over the past decades but now the speed of change is picking up noticeably. Physical retail practically has to re-invent itself so as to stay relevant, especially for young shoppers. In India the coming decade will doubtlessly belong to the retailers who succeed in skilfully using new technologies, lighting, themed interiors and POS marketing to emotionalise the customer journey in their stores.
This is precisely where the 12th in-store asia (isa) kicks in – the biggest trade fair for retail on the Indian subcontinent, to be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai from 14 – 16 March 2019. It comprises a trade fair bringing together all leading suppliers of solutions specifically for the Indian retail industry under one roof, a congress, which serves as a platform for addressing themes of relevance to Indian retail, and the presentation of the renowned VM&RD Awards to recognise retail design and visual merchandising talents.
This year organisers register over 150 exhibitors at in-store asia, which has been a member of the “EuroShop League” since last year, the global EuroShop family of trade fairs. Exhibitors include not only Indian companies but also enterprises from China, Russia and the United Arab Emirates. On display will be the latest products and innovative solutions from the areas of Retail Design, In-Store Display and Visual Merchandising. More than 7,500 trade visitors are expected to attend.
The in-store asia Congress 2019 features various sessions on current topics for the industry, which will be flagged up and discussed by leading retail representatives not only from India but also from abroad. Here the professional audience will be given exciting insights into the retail sector and valuable information right from the “movers and shakers” in this industry – also covering international icon brands such as Macy’s Inc, Bestseller, Croma, Moschino, Good Earth and Jockey.
On the evening of 15 March 2019 in-store Asia will host the eleventh presentation ceremony of the renowned VMRD Awards, India’s only competition for visionaries in retail design and visual merchandising. A total of 60 awards will be presented by an international expert jury in 22 categories – one of these being the “Store of the Year”.
