Alipay integration – a success story!

The Chinese tourism market in Europe is growing steadily and represents a great sales potential for merchants. In 2016, Chinese travelers spent more than $ 292 billion on their journeys – more than any other nation. With Alipay, China's largest mobile payment network (80% market share and 450 million active Chines users), new, financially strong customers from China can be gained by accepting the Alipay app at the point of sale. Since Alipay not only a payment wallet but also a lifestyle app which offers various value-added services, it helps generating more traffic for retailers.

There is a growing consensus that firms with a higher purpose outperform their peers.  The strong performance of firms such as Tom’s Shoes, Etsy, and Whole Foods lends credence to studies that show that employees who believe they are working towards a good cause are engaged, loyal, and productive.  IoT technologies such as RFID, NFC, Bluetooth beacons, and sensor networks provide new opportunities for large enterprises to drive financial returns and measure social, environmental, and cultural change.   Examples will be presented to highlight IoT programs at major global brands and retailers that drive social change and brand awareness through the application of analytical techniques such as machine learning and artificial intelligence IoT technologies with an emphasis on financial returns as well as employee and consumer engagement with social and environmental causes.
