C-star, held in Shanghai from 26 – 28 April 2018, kicks off with an extended range, optimised structure and more comprehensive supporting programme.
C-star, Shanghai’s International Trade Fair for Solutions and Trends all about Retail, has become successfully established in China as a special trade fair for retail, notching up three events now since 2015. As an official satellite of EuroShop in Düsseldorf, The World’s No. 1 Retail Trade Fair, C-star is an annual event presenting innovative products and creative solutions from international suppliers especially for the Chinese market.
The 4th edition of C-star, to be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 26 – 28 April, bears the motto “Shape the Future of Retail”. The trade fair is expected to attract 150 exhibitors and some 8,000 trade visitors who will attend to gather information on current international developments in retail and view pioneering retail design and retail technology solutions tailored to the Asian market.

In view of the dynamic development seen in retail the 2018 edition of C-star will present a wider range and optimised structure with six clearly arranged product categories which are:

The Shop Design segment presents unique, pioneering design concepts while Lighting reflects the immense impact of lighting and special effects on retail. The Retail Technology segment presents a comprehensive line-up of the latest technology for retail and in Visual Merchandising innovation is at the forefront thanks to unusual designs and design ideas. POP Marketing demonstrates the use of digital displays that appeal to all the senses to intensify communication with customers; the Stand Construction and Event Marketing segments are dedicated to the appeal of creating temporary worlds via stand construction.
First-Class Supporting Programme with Specials, Forum and Award Ceremony
Retail Technology Village Market developments show that demand for modern retail technology in China is on the constant rise. To reflect this development the Retail Technology Village at C-star presents current top technology for retail. Innovative payment systems will also be on display here as will many POS technology and goods article surveillance systems.
C-star Brand Zone The C-star Brand Zone offers exhibitors an extra platform where they can showcase their latest products. In 2017 the likes of Changhong from Shijiazhuang City, Shopworks, Saneboon Auto-door, Cityinno, Koscar and German firms like Bizerba will present their latest store designs, spatial concepts and smart retail technology.
C-star Retail Forum Trade visitors can attend the C-star Retail Forum on all days of the trade fair free of charge and without any prior registration. Here sectoral heavyweights and insiders alongside project coordinators of commercial property, leading mall operators, branded goods outfits and other renowned guest speakers will amongst others discuss the following topics: “Global Retail Trends”, “Retail Technology and Omnichannel Development”, “Lighting of Commercial Spaces”, “More Consumption thanks to New Retail”, “Visual Marketing” as well as many other topics.
EuroShop Retail Design Award A highlight at C-star is the prize-giving ceremony of the coveted EuroShop Retail Design Awards 2018 (ERDA). This award honouring the world’s best store concepts is already to be presented for the 11th time now by Messe Düsseldorf together with the EHI Retail Institute. In EuroShop years the ceremony is held in Düsseldorf while in intermediary years C-star in Shanghai offers the ideal setting for the presentation of the renowned sectoral award.
