Air to Air Plate Heat Exchangers (AAHE)

Scope of the programme

This certification programme applies to all ranges of Air to air plate and tube heat exchangers which are included in the certified public selection software of the Applicant/Participant. The certify-all principle applies not only to Europe but to all markets.

The Applicant/Participant shall certify all models in the ranges, including:
• cross flow, counter-flow and parallel flow units
• all sizes
• all materials
• all airflow rates
• all edge lengths
• plate heat exchangers with humidity transfer
Heat exchangers with accessories such as bypass and dampers shall not be included.

The programme does not cover other types of Air to air heat exchangers like Rotary heat exchangers or Heat pipes. Combination of units (twin exchangers) shall not be included.

Eurovent Air to Air Rotary Heat Exchangers Certification Programm

Eurovent Air to Air Rotary Heat Exchangers Certification Programme applies to all Rotary Heat Exchangers including casing.
Participants shall certify all models, if available, including:
      • all classes:
            condensation rotor / non hygroscopic
rotor enthalpy rotor / hygroscopic rotor
            sorption rotor
      • all rotor geometry (wave height, foil thickness)
      • all sizes (rotor diameters and rotor depths and surface areas of alternating storage matrices - ASS)
      • all materials
      • all airflow rates
      • all different types of sealing (if available)

The class “sorption rotor” has to fulfill specific additional requirements on the latent efficiency (see the section "Certified Characteristics”)

Close Control Air Conditioning

This Certification Programme applies to factory-made units intended for Close Control Air Conditioning. This programme includes units with cooling capacities up to 100 kW under the specified test conditions. Participating companies must certify all production models within the scope of the programme.

Definitions

2.1 Direct expansion close control air conditioner
Unit containing complete refrigeration system, designed to satisfy the requirements of the process carried out in the conditioned enclosure.

2.2 Chilled water close control air conditioner
Factory built assembly designed to satisfy requirements of the process carried out in the conditioned enclosure; it is connected to a chilled fluid generator which contains a refrigeration circuit.

2.3 Total cooling capacity
Heat removed by the air conditioner from air within a defined interval of time.

2.4 Sensible cooling capacity
Capacity of the unit for removing sensible heat from the evaporator intake air.

2.5 A-weighted sound power
A single figure on a specific scale which can be related to the subjective assessment of the loudness of a noise.

2.6 Effective power input
Average electrical power input to the unit obtained from:
- the power input for operation of the compressor and any power input for defrosting excluding additional electrical heating devices not used for defrosting
- the power input of all control and safety devices of the unit
- the proportional power input of the conveying devices (e.g., fans, pumps) for ensuring the transport of the heat transfer media inside the air conditioner

Company details

Eurovent Certification Mark

The Certification Mark guarantees that the products have been submitted to independant checking and that they have been accurately rated. This mark guarantees specifiers, installers and end users that products marketed by a participant have been accurately rated. Specification sheets, literature and advertising, should display the certification mark and the following statement:

"(Name of Company) participates in the Eurovent Certification Programme for (designation of the relevant family of products); the certified data of certified models are listed in the Eurovent Directory."

Healthy, solid Competition

The importance and reliability of the European Air Conditioning Industry are clearly demonstrated by the existence of voluntary certification schemes established and administrated by Eurovent Certification Company.

Comparison of product performance by third party testing based on well-defined procedures ensures a healthy and solid competition on a market open to all manufacturers.
