Media harbour Düsseldorf
?LINE_1>
From a flourishing industrial harbour and its gradual decline to a flourishing media and creative district similar to the Docklands in London.
Advertising agencies, radio and TV stations, film production companies, design and art shops, lively restaurants and hip clubs influence life between Hammerstraße, Zollhof, Kaistraße, Speditionsstraße and Rheinpark. This structural transformation is clearly visible at first glance: In the past, cranes and warehouses shaped its landscape. Today, it attracts architectural fans from all over the world to Düsseldorf. The most spectacular showpieces are the “dancing” Gehry buildings with their shimmering façades, and the omnipresent Rhine wich also makes its mark on this district.
Berens
Light Mediterranean and French cuisine at the highest level is the distinguishing feature of star chef Holger Berens’ restaurant. The wine list includes more than 500 wines from all over the world – amongst these are some sought-after rarities.

Eigelstein
Eigelstein ist Düsseldorf’s first Koelsch brewery tavern. Here they serve Gaffel-Koelsch (beer from Cologne). Actually, this is nothing special – but: The differences between „Alt“ beer and „Koelsch“ beer could not be bigger: One is dark brown – the other one golden yellow; one tastes aromatic, bitter – the other one is rather light; one represents Düsseldorf – the other one Cologne. And because both cities have been cultivating a friendly rivalry for hundreds of years now, this makes the beer comparison even more exciting. A visit to Eigelstein is worth it not only because of its gastronomic pleasures.

Gehry’s
If you love meat, Prime Beef Restaurant Gehry’s in the Düsseldorf Medienhafen (media harbour) is the place where you get your money’s worth. Thanks to an oven, developed in the USA, the steaks are „shock heated“. This closes the pores immediately, and every juicy drip stays in the meat.

Meerbar
It is all in the name: In this restaurant, bar, lounge, it is (almost) all about fish dishes. If you are then also able to find a seat on the outdoor terrace, located right on the dock, you can almost imagine being at the beach.
