Five month before C-star, China's new retail show, will kick off at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC), the C-star team is delighted to announce the first details regarding the show's supporting program.

Albeit in its first edition, C-star will already feature an extensive supporting program. Atop of this program stands the C-star Retail Conference, which will be held simultaneously to the first two exhibition days of C-star on May 13-14 at the Kerry Center Pudong, adjacent to Hall N1 of SNIEC, the venue of C-star.

Alike the C-star fair itself, the C-star Retail Conference is organized by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co Ltd and supported by the China National Commercial Information Center. On the international side, Professor Dr. Helmut Merkel, former Arcandor chairman and CEO of Karstadt, is the most available asset as the Conference Chairman. The C-star Retail Conference is designed as a comprehensive supporting program to the C-star trade fair and will deal with the topic "The Future of Retail - The Future of Destinations" - a trend-setting topic as increasingly more retailers struggle to raise their physical stores' attractiveness in order to lure shoppers away from online retail.

An exciting panel of speakers featuring highly experienced CEOs and professionals from the retail industry, such as Yao Wang (Deputy President of the China General Chamber of Commerce), Mark Israel (CEO of Value Retail China), Richard Wörösch (Schwitzke & Partner), Yue Hong (Member of the Board of Yansha Group, Beijing) and many more.

C-star visitors will also have the chance to participate at the C-star Open Forum, an on-site discussion forum jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the EHI Retail Institute, which will be held simultaneously to the C-star show. The Open Forum will be located at the exhibition hall of C-star and will feature an area of 270 square meters in theater form, able to accommodate up to 60 participants. There, exhibitors are encouraged to speak on a topic, which is thematically relevant to C-star, in order to share their knowledge and experience with other industry peers.

Thus, visitors of C-star will not only have the ability to discover the newest retail trends and solutions at the C-star show itself but will also have the chance to discuss these topics and share their knowledge with other industry professionals and expand their personal business circle at the C-star Retail Conference and the C-star Open Forum. This undermines the efforts by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co Ltd to establish C-star not only as a leading retail show but also as a knowledge hub for the entire industry, enhancing C-star's long-term commitment to the Chinese market.

More details regarding the Retail Conference and the Open Forum, including an online registration, will soon be available at the C-star website
