The 2nd C-star (Shanghai’s International Trade Fair for Solutions and Trends all about Retail) will be held on May 18-20 in the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
As a trend-setting one-stop solution, and building on last year’s success, C-star 2016 will feature four sectors tailored for the retail industry in China:

C-star 2016 will bring together 180 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions exhibiting the latest retail technology and product solutions, including 46 exhibitors from outside of China.
Amongst the exhibitors, 52% specialize in shopfitting, 16% in visual merchandising and marketing, 10% in lighting, 10% in retail technology and 8% in stand construction. Exciting ancillary events facilitating effective industry exchange
As a platform leading to the future, C-star 2016 will offer a wide range of exciting ancillary events exclusive for retailers. As the first event during C-star 2016, the C-star Retail Tour will be held on May 17 (the day before C-star 2016), giving participants the chance to see international retail brands’ innovation trends and solutions and also to experience the charm of the retail world.
The first stop of the C-star Retail Tour will be Carrefour, where participants will have the chance to understand how the large supermarket chain attracts Chinese customers. The tour will then lead participants to the world’s largest Disney store and the most successful down garment producer Bosideng. In addition, the tour will take participants to Reel Mall and Jiuguang Shopping Mall, two of the most innovative and trendy shopping centers in Shanghai, where participants will visit a number of impressive boutique-concept stores to gain insights of the metropolis retail environment as well as the desires and needs of Chinese customers.
The much anticipated C-star Retail Conference will take place parallel to C-star on May 18-19, focusing on the topic “The Future of Retail – Local Heroes with Global Potential" with renowned leading local and international retail industry experts invited to talk about the success stories in retailers’ localization strategies. Speakers will share their knowledge and experience as well as discussing current trends and hot topics, and participants will have the opportunities to gain industry insights and expand their business networks.
Being the first dinner during C-star 2016, the EuroShop Retail Design Award (ERDA) Reception Dinner will kick off on May 18 at the Shanghai Kempinski Hotel. At this glorious event, the EHI Retail Institute and Messe Düsseldorf will grant awards to the best store design concepts. This year’s award nominees include organic supermarket Whole Foods from Dayton USA, the Samsung Experience Store in Beijing, Asics flagship store “Home of Asics” in Paris, etc.
C-star 2016 not only will present the latest solutions and trends in the retail industry, but will also serve as a high-level open platform for information and technology exchange among industry experts. Besides receiving great support from some of the most active first-tier retail exhibitors, leading industry magazines “Luce e Design” and “The Fashion Shop” will also be making use of their information platform’s power of convergence in attracting industry experts from the fields of lighting and shopfitting for two exciting salon sessions.
At the same time, C-star 2016 will feature two special exhibition zones - Designer Village and Retail Technology Village.
Building on years of success at EuroShop, Designer Village will also prosper at C-star 2016. Global retail design companies and leading design studios will showcase their abilities in bringing to customers extraordinary shopping experience, through the use of special visual and audio designs.
Retail Technology Village will be a brand-new zone created based on the EuroCIS model, where advanced solutions and development trends can be found, and various types of POS technologies, innovative payment systems as well as cutting-edge security systems can be experienced.
